Angie Coulson Barefoot Hoof Trimmer Emmett Therapy Tablelands

Hi, I’m Angie – passionate about horses and dedicated to their care and welfare.

My journey into barefoot started in NZ with my neighbour showing me how to do a basic trim on my horses that I had at the time, but it really took off with my eldest daughter and her OTT, struggling with being sound for One Day Eventing .

OTT Teddy in full shoes, overreaching and abscessing.  Daughter periodically in tears over comps missed. End of season, we decided to remove shoes, bought some trimming tools and books and had a go. Teddy transitioned to barefoot extremely well, stopped overreaching, feet continued to improve, including his movement and dressage scores. Teddy and daughter went on over the years to successfully compete barefoot in ODE.

In the meantime, I started trimming all our horses, got a good mentor checking my work and then qualified in 2011 with Australian Certified Equine Hoofcare. Producing good feet, meant learning about nutrition, environment, and lifestyle of horses, something I feel very passionate about.

Also noticing irregularities in hooves meant further learning into bodywork and qualifying as an Emmett for Horses Practioner in 2018.
